Kitchen and Keeping room gut and remodel. Planning and design, finishes and furniture

For this project, our client wanted a kitchen that felt fresh and functional while still connecting warmly to the adjoining keeping room – a space where daily life actually happens. We developed a comprehensive plan that addressed both aesthetics and livability, ensuring the rooms worked together rather than feeling like separate zones.

We began with a finish and color palette to brighten the kitchen while adding character. Crisp cabinetry was paired with handcrafted-look tile in soft  blues to bring depth and personality to the backsplash. Updated lighting, new hardware, and carefully scaled island seating improved both function and flow, making the kitchen a true gathering place rather than just a workspace.

In the keeping room, we layered in comfortable furnishings, tailored upholstery, and durable materials designed for real life. Soft textiles, curated art, and warm wood accents balanced the clean lines of the kitchen, creating a relaxed space for morning coffee, casual entertaining, and late night lounging. The palette carries throughout with gentle aquas, warm neutrals, and natural textures, allowing the two rooms to feel cohesive while each maintains its own identity.

Our role included space planning, finish selections, lighting, furnishings, styling, and installation oversight. The end result is a light-filled, welcoming hub of the home where cooking, gathering, and everyday moments can comfortably coexist.
